== Transferring From One Group Plan To Another == This was surprisingly involved but straightforward, just like the other process. Since Julie was moving off her sister's plan and onto mine we had to figure this out. You'll never lose service but you should be prepared to go through some risky destructive actions. Things that you should make sure you have access to before you start are: * The other group plan's admin's Google Fi account * The transferring account's Google Fi account * The new group plan's admin's Google Fi account * Billing method ready to go. Finally, on the new group plan's admin's account contact support and have them on the line as they go along with you. Things will fail in the process and it's useful to have the ticket handy ahead of time to be transferred appropriately. === Leave The Other Group Plan === The first thing to do is to have the other group plan admin remove the moving Google account from the group plan. You'll be prompted with a warning about a number of things. Accept them all. === Start an Individual Plan === You'll get a prompt in the Google Fi app to do this when you've left the other group plan. Select the same payment plan as the new group plan, i.e. in our case we had to select Unlimited Plus for Julie's account to match the Unlimited Plus for my account. === Add To Your New Group Plan === At this point, you can attempt to add the Google account to your new group plan. This is supposed to just work at this stage and you're good to go. We chose to just "bring our own phone" rather than buying one of the Google Pixels or Samsungs on payment plan. However, there is one hitch: Google One. ==== Google One ==== If you have a Google One account, that pays for more than the default you'll have some trouble. Unfortunately, Google Fi comes with a subscription to Google One. Fortunately, this can be solved on the back-end by their guys, but there's nothing you can do. Because you got on the individual plan, however, you won't have any loss of service for the period until they fix this on the back-end (a few hours). The customer service representative I had couldn't internally transfer me. She had to switch the ticket to the Google One team, then tell me they'd call back, and then hang up. About 30 minutes later, I was able to add Julie to the plan. They never called back. But the next day they sent me a generic form email about how to switch Google One service which was irrelevant to everything.
