Reality has fractal complexity, descending into depths as ones tools to inspect it increase in resolution. Models are facsimiles of reality that are useful to predict or describe this complexity. Their usefulness therefore comes from their simplicity. But necessarily, this means that they elide the minor harmonics. This, in turn, means that strict adherence to the model is pointless since you only use the model to attempt to run a simulation further or to attempt to understand the much more complex reality.

Purity in adherence to a model does not advance comprehension of the reality so if the latter is one's objective, purity is sin.
