Low Dose, Frequent Exposure is the doctrine by which I dealt with SARS-CoV-2. The idea is as simple as Dread Pirate Roberts' defence here. Try not to avoid the disease as much as possible, staying as healthy and able, and being in public often enough to encounter the disease in some small dose.
In theory, if people are successfully fighting off the disease and recovering, their immune system is able to mount a response. If it didn't, they would simply die. The fact that most young people do recover implies that this is something we can fight off.
Encountered in a small enough dose when one is healthy enough, one can imagine that one's immune system would mount a response and record in memory cells how to beat this pathogen. Repeated exposure will ready the system even more. When I eventually face a large dose of the virus, my already primed and prepared body will fight it off like a master fighter overcomes an opponent he has trained for all his life.
Results[edit]
Well, this is an n=1
thing, of course, but when my Julie and our friends fell sick I quarantined with them, showing no symptoms, and neither Color's nor the home tests showed any presence of the virus. Considering that, at the time, I had no compunctions sharing food or drink and close quarters with them, I had every chance to fall ill.
Among everyone I know, I'm also of the small set of people who hasn't fallen ill to this disease over the last 4 years.
Though, interestingly, when I got the vaccines all of the doses were utterly undetectable to me. On both occasions I went to Barry's that day or the next and didn't feel particularly exhausted. That's a bit strange since if I were right, I should expect a big solid response. So perhaps there is another reason I didn't fall sick. Something as simple as my cells not having an appropriate docking site for the virus.
Still, LDFE got me through this whole thing living my life as close to normal as possible.
Addendum[edit]
The best part about making bombastic statements of my illness doctrine is that, should I eventually fall ill, it will be positively hilarious. But even that is acceptable in the lila of life and perhaps desired in Observation Dharma considering the personal risk.
