Because my data is out there on the Internet everywhere, I often get notification of class action settlements. It's usually pretty easy to check if they're real and then submit one's information. The easiest ones arrive as Venmo money. The funny thing about the whole thing is that I even do this stuff because it's never a lot of money. Still, it always feels like leaving a 10 dollar bill lying on the street and I would never just do that. I might do that even if I were a billionaire. Some compulsion of my life experience I suppose. | Because my data is out there on the Internet everywhere, I often get notification of class action settlements.
One of the way that these pay out is that via prepaid cards with strange balances. For instance, the card I just got as Equifax settlement spare balance arrived as an online prepaid card for $7.44. Most places don't allow you to split this so this will be a weird purchase. The easiest way to take advantage of these weird gift cards, imho, is to use them to buy Amazon gift cards. Amazon gift cards can contribute to your gift balance on Amazon and just subtract from what you pay and they accept arbitrary quantities. You can get an Amazon gift card to yourself and then apply it to your account.
